Born in Dubai to a Jordanian father and a Croatian mother, Assist. Prof. Fadi Almahariq, MD. Ph.D. returned to Croatia to pursue his medical education and professional career in neurosurgery. He graduated from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 2007 and completed his neurosurgery residency in 2015.

In 2020, he obtained his Ph.D. in Neuroscience with a dissertation titled "Anatomical Subdivision of the Subthalamic Nucleus." He currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb. Dr. Almahariq has been repeatedly recognized by patients as "Najdoktor" (Best Doctor) for four consecutive years (2022–2025).
