Born in Dubai to a Jordanian father and Croatian mother, Dr. Fadi Almahariq returned to Croatia 25 years ago to pursue his medical career. After overcoming initial language challenges, he completed his medical degree and specialized in neurosurgery.

He holds a PhD and serves as docent (associate professor), combining clinical practice with academic work. Dr. Almahariq specializes in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery, treating brain tumors and degenerative diseases like Parkinson's disease. He was named "Najdoktora" (Best Doctor) in 2024 by patients. He collaborates with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on developing Croatian neurosurgical robotics technology.
